Method
Blanch the asparagus
▢
Bring a large saucepan of salted water to a boil.
▢
Add the sugar and lemon juice, stir.
1 tablespoon lemon juice,
1 tablespoon turbinado
▢
Drop the asparagus in and blanch for 4-5minutes, a little longer if the stalks are super thick.
1 pound white asparagus

Drain and season white pepper and with sea salt, if desired.
½ teaspoon white pepper

Yes, you can make this recipe with green asparagus. It will, however, be very,
very
green. And we know it's not easy being green.
